Canberra Trip

Posted by: | April 7, 2012 | 10 Comments |

Team Waldock is currently on a ten day Easter break. This gives us a chance to have a rest before some of us head to Canberra for a week long stay. Canberra is the capital city of Australia and it is full of interesting things to see and do. ‘Canberra’ means ‘meeting place’ in Aboriginal and our trip there allows us to apply everything we have been learning about Australian Government. We will be visiting the National Gallery, Science and Technology Centre, War Memorial and both the old and new Parliament Houses.

Please leave your comments about your experiences of Canberra.

    Hello Team Waldock,
My name is Daisy and I am from Point Lonsdale Primary in Queenscliff. I’ve only been to Canberra once with my family but I chickened out on the drop slide at Questacon. How was your trip? I hope you had fun.

    Hey Everybody,
    Canberra was really fun.
I liked Questicon alot even though I didn’t go on the drop.
I enjoyed 10 pin bowling and swimming at the A.I.S aswell.
I can’t decide what my favourite thing about Canberra was though.

    Dear Mrs Waldock,
from my experience of Canberra I have learnt much more about how our country is run, not only in parliament but in other things as well.
Like how the Mint makes coins. In Canberra, I enjoyed the National Gallery the most, and when we stayed in Sydney I really enjoyed the zoo, especially the seal show.

    Hi Everyone,
    It was great fun.
I really enjoyed the great fall at Science and Technology Center.
I loved Canberra but I think Sydney would be great if the rain or the floods stoped a bit so it wouldn’t be that wet.
The National Gallery was great, I loved the pictures. I wish I could draw like that too( except I can’t).
The first days I was very EXCITED but the last days were a bit boring for me. Except I think it was the best trip ever.
